Tether Robot Electromagnetic Beacon Tracker

This project involved designing, building, and testing an electromagnetic tether robot, which keeps a fixed distance from an electromagnetic beacon. This project was a major deliverable for the EECE 281: Electronics Laboratory II course at the University of British Columbia.

I worked in a team of 6 to complete this project. Throughout the course of this project I:

  • Designed the robot receiver, achieving reliable signal triangulation
  • Implemented the 8052 microcontroller firmware in C, handling beacon AD conversion
